Duck Drop
To celebrate our history on the farm, we are excited to announce the 2024 Founders' Day Duck Drop! This year, we are selling cow-themed rubber ducks throughout August and September to raise money for the University of Rio Grande. Each $10 duck purchased online gives you an entry to win a prize, and students with a current RIO ID can buy their ducks for just $5 at the Office of Institutional Advancement, open from 8 AM to 5 PM, with cash or Venmo accepted. All proceeds support the University of Rio Grande. You do not need to be present to win, as the ducks will be dropped on the rugby field on Founders' Day. Only one winner is selected each year. If you wish to purchase a duck on behalf of a friend or family member, please forward your online registration confirmation to alumni@rio.edu, including your first and last name and the first and last name(s) of the recipient(s). This fun activity fosters the spirit of philanthropy at the University of Rio Grande and the surrounding community. Everyone is welcome to attend a Founders' Day event to buy a duck in person and join us on September 13 for Family Day to watch the ducks being dropped onto the field. The first 100 K-12 students to find their duck on the field will receive a free "Future RedStorm" shirt, sponsored by the Office of Advancement, Athletics, and Robin Fowler State Farm!
