McArthur Center

Thanks to the generosity of a donor, students attending the McArthur Center will have the opportunity to receive a tuition-free education! This includes full coverage of institutional costs such as books and fees, eliminating the financial stress often associated with pursuing higher education.

Currently located in the former Vinton County High School building, the McArthur Center offers a variety of degree and certificate programs, including several healthcare programs and general studies. Rio was recognized in the 2024 Best Healthcare Degree Programs Ranking in America, by Research.com. Additional Information about the Mitchell Family Scholarship

Students taking at least 50% of their coursework at the McArthur Center. Students do not need to be full-time, but all students pursuing degrees in Pell-eligible programs must complete the FAFSA to be eligible.  To continue to receive the scholarship, students must be in positive financial aid and academic standing. CCP students in positive standing seeking to take courses beyond the eligible hours could be eligible for coverage for those additional courses only.

Students must complete the Mitchell Family Scholarship application before the first day of classes each semester.  Students must reapply each semester to determine continued eligibility.

The Mitchell Family Scholarship covers all tuition, fees, and required books after the federal Pell Grant is applied to eligible students.  The scholarship is non-refundable.  If eligible, students may still receive loans.

The Mitchell Family Scholarship does not cover housing charges, school supplies, additional program requirements such as uniforms, drug tests, and background checks, fines, and drop/add charges.

We are currently accepting applications for Spring 2025 semester. Scholarship dollars are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. Contact us today!
